Mark Thomas, P.E. is an independent engineer providing consulting and design services to a number of utility companies and vendors. He specializes in Dry Sorbent Injection System (DSI) analysis, testing, design, retrofit and integration. He has over 30 years of experience on all major power plant systems but focuses on pollution control systems. Before leaving Duke Energy in 2011 he was the SME responsible for all SCR’s, DSI and other SO3 mitigation systems. He is considered to be a leading industry expert who helped pioneer the use of DSI systems beginning in 2000 at Cinergy’s Zimmer Power Plant and authored EPRI’s “Best Practices” document for MAT’s control in 2018. Mark is a registered PE in the state of OHIO and holds a BS & MS from the University of Cincinnati.
